Lights in the sky

In the Distillery District today I noticed these things, suspended from wires above the lane leading to the Young Centre. The lights flicker and change colour as you watch, from green to red to blue. Are they just "mood lighting" fixtures that are left on all day? Or are they landing signals for UFOs? Whatever they are, they're kind of neat looking.

the latter.

though why aliens would want to land in the distillery is beyond me.

The aliens are like everyone else and sometimes they want hot chocolate from Soma!

I saw those! I thought they were neat too.

Adam's right. Well, either they're there for the chocolate, or they want to take photographs of those damn trucks like everyone else.

Strange -- it takes a lot of effort to string up such a thing; there must be a story . . . Perhaps it's part of a study on homeopathic dosages of subliminal colored lighting? -- but how then are the effects studied and gauged? and what sorts of effects? Perhaps they're meant for nighttime pizzaz, but somebody was too lazy to turn them of during the day? Perhaps they were unable to hire a light-turn-off-er, so had to just leae 'em on 24/7?

Why are Martians
(denizens of the Red Planet)
deemed to be
Little Green Men?
red & green
stop & go

there must be a story
